What made RGM such a splash was that Lumet seemed to reflect parts of her own life in the film. The parents are divorced; the white father has remarried a black woman and the daughter from the first marriage is marrying a black man. Now I have not seen Rachel Getting Marriedbut I would find it interesting from the usual run-of-the-mill, but not sensational, you dig?
